Michelle Hodapp

CEO / Founder


Michelle is the CEO and founder of Excel Personnel Services, started in 1995. The business has steadily grown to a trusted California staffing agency with three offices on the Central Coast, including Lompoc, Santa Maria, and Santa Barbara.

As a person who loves to mingle in the industry that she loves, Michelle is the current Los Angeles Chapter President of California Staffing Professionals Association and has served on the state Board. She is a current Certified Staffing Professional through the American Staffing Association and was honored to receive the Los Angeles Chapter Staffing Professional of the Year award for 2016/2017.

Michelle is a member of Rotary, serving as a current Board Member and past President. She is also past Chair of the Board with the Lompoc Chamber of Commerce and has served on the Board and Membership Development Committee of the Lompoc YMCA, the Lompoc Economic Development Committee, and the Lompoc High School ROP Business Academy Committee. 

Excel Personnel Services is a firm believer in giving back to our communities by hosting annual events benefiting school-aged children, senior citizens, and people with disabilities. The staffing agency also provides annual scholarships to college-bound and trade school students, as well as donations to many other non-profits.


Tasha Bukowski

Operations Manager

Tasha was born and raised in the Santa Ynez Valley. After her graduation, she spent several years in Orange County where she discovered the benefits of working for a staffing company. Tasha was able to gain valuable experience in many industries while diversifying her skillsets. After returning to the Central Coast in 1999, Tasha joined the Excel team, meticulously climbing the ladder of success in various roles from Receptionist to Recruiter to Job Placement Coordinator. 

In 2011 Tasha transitioned onto the executive management team and is now the Operations Manager, overseeing the operations of our California staffing agency. In 2016 she earned her Certified Staffing Professional (CSP) designation through the American Staffing Association. 

Tasha spends most of her days helping clients find the right fit for their staffing needs, which in turn helps job seekers find work! 

Alma Lopez

Lead Staffing Specialist

Alma first worked for our California staffing agency as a temporary employee for various clients before transitioning over to the permanent team. She started as a Staffing Assistant, then a Job Placement Coordinator, and is now in the role of Lead Staffing Specialist. Alma enjoys every aspect of her job; the most satisfying is matching applicants to rewarding job opportunities. Throughout her years at Excel, Alma has had the opportunity to develop her knowledge and expertise in human resources and recruiting.

Alma has her roots in the Lompoc Valley, been married for 21 years, and has four children. She stays very busy doing the things she loves, such as camping, dirt bike riding, and spending quality time with family and friends. 

Jim Hensley

Business Development Manager


Jim Hensley was raised in Ventura County but has made the Lompoc Valley his home for the last 22 years. Jim has been a sales and marketing professional for over 26 years, and providing outstanding customer service is his number one priority. Jim’s role as the Business Development Manager of our California staffing agency keeps him busy bringing in new business as well as maintaining existing relationships with our many clients. He is a member of the American Staffing Association as well as the California Staffing Professionals Association. Jim earned his Certified Staffing Professional (CSP) Credential from the American Staffing Association in July 2018.

Family is very important to Jim. He is married to Deidre, a fifth-grade teacher. They have two children, Mary and Jacob. He currently enjoys volunteering with both the Boy Scouts and Lompoc High School PTSA. His hobbies include camping, cycling, movies, and music. 

Tawnya Mansera


Safety Manager

Tawnya was born and raised in the beautiful Santa Maria Valley. Joining our team in 2015 as an Office Assistant, Tawnya has climbed the ladder in her career and has been promoted to Recruiter. In this role, she skillfully sources, screens, and interviews candidates for our many job opportunities.

In 2017 Tawnya earned the designation of Certified Staffing Professional (CSP) through the American Staffing Association, and shortly thereafter received her 30-Hour OSHA Certification, prompting yet another promotion to Safety Manager.

As Safety Manager, Tawnya meticulously implements and maintains Excel’s safety program, working together with our clients and employees to ensure best safety practices are followed and adhered to in the workplace.

Latoya Olivas

Senior Recruiter

Latoya grew up in the 5-Cities area and is a wife and busy mother of four. She started her professional career as an Associate Teacher for the Santa Barbara County Education Board. After taking a few years off to care for her children, she interviewed with a Recruiter at Excel.  She was intrigued with the process and admired the way in which her Recruiter took the time to go over the procedures. She felt genuinely cared for while the Recruiter got to know her and her employment needs and wants.

Latoya is now our Senior Recruiter at the Santa Maria branch and feels the key to recruiting is relationships. Latoya strives to make a connection with her candidates as individuals. Her goal is to provide a positive experience and help as many candidates as she can find the perfect job!

Veronica Lopez

Junior Recruiter

Veronica was born and raised in the Lompoc Valley. After proving to be an outstanding employee working temporary assignments through Excel, the staffing agency quickly realized it needed to snatch her up to be part of the team. 

In 2019 Veronica was hired as a Receptionist and was quickly promoted to Junior Recruiter. At our staffing agency she recruits candidates, screens them, and matches job seekers to our many opportunities.

As a social butterfly, Veronica is driven to help others in need and lift them to their highest potential, making her the perfect person to work in the staffing industry. In her free time, Veronica loves spending time with her family enjoying their movie night traditions.

Michael Kourakos

Safety Team

Michael is a Lompoc native and attended Cabrillo High School. He graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2017 with a B.A. in Sociology. 

With Michael’s determination to pursue a career in Human Resources, he joined the Excel staffing agency team in 2017. In 2019 Michael received his designation as a Certified Staffing Professional (CSP) through the American Staffing Association and is currently studying to receive his Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification through the Human Resources Certification Institute.

In addition to his key role as a Staffing Specialist, Michael is also an integral part of our Safety Team, working diligently at keeping workplace safety a number one priority.
