We are currently recruiting a Teacher in Santa Barbara, California. This position is a full-time temporary role lasting through the end of the year. The schedules are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm or Tuesday through Thursday 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, with a pay range between $21 to $30.10 an hour. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate with parents on a regular, planned basis as well as on an informal daily basis. Conducts parent conferences annually or as requested by supervisor or parent. Assists in organizing and attends parent functions.
- Responsible for providing safe and nurturing care to all children at all times including but not limited to diapering or toileting, feeding, and supporting and modeling positive behaviors while attending various social and emotional needs of the children.
- Responsible for prep and clean-up tasks for children’s areas and meals.
- Selects and carries out age-appropriate curriculum for the children as assigned and as outlined in our curriculum philosophies.
- Communicates in an effective and timely manner with staff and customers.
- Maintains all appropriate documentation.
- Attends monthly staff meetings, workshops and conferences.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 12 units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) with at least 3 units in Infant/Toddler care if the position is with infants or toddlers and 6 months of teaching experience; OR An Associate Teacher Permit, with at least 3 ECE units in Infant/Toddler care if the position is with infants or toddlers.
- Child Development Permit, AHA Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid, CPR, Automated External Defibrillator certifications preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- 1 year experience with applicable age group including Lab School experience or 4 years with applicable age group without Lab School Experience
- Thorough knowledge of child development from birth to 6 years of age.
