The Mechanical Production Technician position is located on the beautiful Central Coast of California – Santa Barbara, CA. The position is Full Time and Temp to Hire, with the hours from 7:30am to 4pm, Mondays through Fridays. The pay rate ranges from $24 to $27/hr DOE. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Drills, taps, reams or punches holes in metal using drill presses, mills, lathes or punch presses.
- Cuts metal to size using band saws or other cutting tools.
- Removes small quantities of metal in order to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts.
- Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following engineering drawings.
- Aligns components, and bolts, screws, or rivets them together.
- Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, gears or bearings, and works them to test free movement.
- Bends and installs pipe for hydraulic systems.
- Identifies parts using ink stamping, electrochemical etching, metal stamping or engraving.
- Assists in testing operation of completed product.
Skills & Qualifications
- One to three months related experience and or training
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
