We are currently recruiting for an IT Application Specialist position in Lompoc, California. This is a full-time temporary role lasting until 12/20/2024 with a temp-to-hire possibility for the right fit. The schedule is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, and the pay rate is $30 an hour. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Bar Code Labeling development, validation, and troubleshooting utilizing software programs such as TL Ashford.
  • Scanner configuration and scanner testing/troubleshooting for bar code label scanners.
  • Configuration and maintenance of label printers to ensure proper printing of labels.
  • Assist with Quality Assurance Testing to ensure new application development meets project requirements and is validated prior to deployment. This entails the writing of unit tests with expected outcomes, executing unit tests, documenting results, and providing feedback.
  • Assist with Help Desk Support tickets as directed such as, but not limited to, printer & scanner configuration and troubleshooting, application troubleshooting, desk moves, user support.
  • Assist with IT Department documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, and others as directed.
  • Perform SQL database queries when necessary for data analysis and reporting.
  • Document and maintain troubleshooting procedures and solutions for hardware and software systems.
  • Monitor performance of programs after implementation and provide user training and follow-up support.
  • Interface and coordinate data and system needs with departments.
  • Maintain accurate and current knowledge of database design and application usage.
  • Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols, mediums, network systems integration, and Windows operating systems.
  • Install, maintain, and support audiovisual equipment and peripheral devices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent from college or technical school
  • Ability to work with data processing, programming, software systems design, problem analysis and hardware.
  • Strong technical skills with ability to learn new software programs quickly.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • CNE, MCSE, CCNA, or CCNP recommended.
  • Knowledge of medical device industry or related area.
  • Skill in demonstrating a professional phone manner.
  • Ability to function in a controlled environment regulated by FDA GMP’s and handle all types of confidential data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with many levels of employees of various disciplines and departments, as well as external contacts, including government agencies.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
  • Ability to be flexible in changing daily workload priorities as directed.
  • Ability to coordinate and synchronize multiple projects.
  • Ability to accurately perform detail-oriented work.
  • Ability to use all types of commercial software products and custom software products.
  • Willing to train if inexperienced.
