We are currently recruiting for a Grounds Worker with a well-established company on Vandenberg Space Force Base and they are looking to add a hardworking and dedicated individual to their team, so if this describes you, then apply now!
The Grounds Worker position is full time and either temp-to-hire or direct hire. Hours are from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. The rate of pay is $17.49/hr ($21.72/hr with health and wellness benefit).
**This position is located on the military base, so rules and restrictions to enter the base do apply. You must have a clean background and driving record and pass a drug screen in order to gain base access. Candidates must demonstrate a VALID DISABILITY to qualify for employment through the employer on whose behalf Excel is recruiting. **
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Complete grounds maintenance requirements as specified in the base contract
- Perform routine cleaning, preventative maintenance and minor repair tasks on tools and equipment as required.
- Operate hand tools and power tools commonly utilized in grounds maintenance operations safely.
- Prune shrubs, hedges and vines including cleanup and debris removal
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior grounds maintenance experience required
- Must be able to safely operate backpack blowers, hedge trimmers, and line trimmers
- Must have a valid drivers’ license with an insurable record
- Able to perform repetitive work according to set procedures
- Able to work as part of a team
