The Customer Service Specialist position is with a very well-established company on the Central Coast of California – Lompoc, CA – a town surrounded by mountainous landscapes and known for its local wineries. This is a full time, temp-to-hire position with flexible 8 hour days Monday through Friday with a rate of pay ranging from $21-24 an hour DOE. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service – Responsible for exceptional customer support, processing orders, ensuring on time delivery, handling complaints, sample requests, and credit requests.
  • Order Processing – Receive orders via email, send confirmations, make sure B/L received once order has shipped, and process order through from ‘released’ to ‘delivered’ status.
  • Planning – Communicate with and assist Production Managers in production planning.
  • Scheduling – Ensure trucks are scheduled for shipping samples and orders are shipped per the agreements set up with customers, and prepare appropriate documentation in support of these functions.
  • Inventory – Monitor and update daily finished goods inventory to ensure availability to customers.
  • Credit – Work closely with the credit department on receipt of ‘cash in advance’ payments, credit hold orders, new customer’s credit applications, and limits.
  • File Maintenance & Reporting – Maintain departmental filing systems with appropriate documentation, and report customer activity to appropriate internal partners.

Qualifications:

  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Prior SAP Experience is a plus.
  • Ability to think critically and multitask under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and learn and retain new software skills.
  • Experience with computer applications including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Google Suite
  • Strong communication and people skills to work effectively with both internal and external customers.
