We are currently hiring for a Launch Site Range Coordinator on Vandenberg SFB. This position will coordinate mission-specific requirements for the launch site and be an interface with the launch range and other organizations to coordinate mission planning, obtain required approvals for launch, and other mission requirements. You will interface with the launch vehicle, payload, ground support equipment, IT, Ground Software, GNC, and Avionics teams to ensure customer and mission requirements are implemented for successful program execution, and you will have important responsibilities on launch day.
This is a full time, temp-to-hire position, with a Monday through Friday schedule. The rate of pay ranges from $130,000 to $140,000 annually (DOE).

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with program and mission management teams to identify any mission-unique requirements that affect launch site systems, processes, or procedures.
- Pass mission specific requirements to the launch site, launch operations and ground support equipment design teams.
- Plan and schedule all mission specific activities at the launch site including operations plans, range scheduling, support team travel and other activities required for launch.
- Draft, coordinate, and submit mission specific documentation for the launch site.
- Manage and/or coordinate post-flight data collection.
- Track implementation of customer requirements and collect required documentation.
- Interface with key stakeholders and other various agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a technical or project engineering role.
- Strong organizational abilities including action item tracking, the ability to meet deadlines, and produce quality work quickly.
- Previous experience with detailed design and operation of ground-based telemetry systems for commercial LSPs.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze requirements, produce actionable items and communicate how to satisfy them.
- Excellent people skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Exceptional computer skills (MS Excel, MS Project, MS Visio).
- Strong communication skills in technical work environments.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous space launch, space operations, range operations or ground station experience highly desired.
- Previous experience with detailed design and operation of ground-based telemetry assets at Wallops Flight Facility and/or Vandenberg Space Force Base.
- Previous experience coordinating with relevant offices within the Federal Aviation Administration, including The Office of Commercial Space Transportation (AST) and The Air Traffic Organization (ATO).
- Project or program management experience.
- Experience interfacing with government agencies.
- Prior launch vehicle operations at test or launch facilities.
- Experience with Atlassian products (i.e., Confluence and Jira).
- Familiarity with version control systems (i.e., SVN, Bitbucket, etc.).
- Working knowledge of data viewing tools in Python, LabView, MATLAB, etc.
- Basic working knowledge of AFSPCMAN 91-710, NASA- STD-5005, GSFC-STD-8009, RCC 319/324, etc.
