Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Project Manager to oversee day-to-day operations for commercial construction projects throughout Southern California.  Based in Ontario, you will manage multiple active job sites across Long Beach, Pasadena, Riverside, and Los Angeles.  This is a direct hire opportunity with a reputable general contractor known for delivering quality projects on time and within budget.

Salary:  $130,000

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight: Lead and manage assigned construction projects to ensure safety, quality, scheduling, and budget compliance

Client Communication: Maintain strong relationships with clients, property managers, architects, and consultants

Subcontractor Coordination: Define scopes, ensure manpower coverage, monitor progress, and enforce safety standards

Site Management: Conduct regular inspections, enforce cleanliness protocols, and coordinate city inspections

Reporting: Maintain daily reports with photographs, submit weekly project updates, and participate in weekly site meetings

Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, manage invoices and billing, and flag out-of-scope costs for approval

Documentation: Assist in subcontract preparation, maintain up-to-date insurance records, and contribute to project close-out manuals

Leadership: Promote a culture of quality, safety, and teamwork on-site, while ensuring compliance with Cal/OSHA standards

Scheduling: Develop and update detailed schedules using Microsoft Project and distribute weekly updates to clients and subcontractors

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office and scheduling software
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and codes
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma required
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and travel regularly between project sites

  • Fast-paced field and office environments
  • Regular local travel required (Long Beach, Pasadena, Riverside, Los Angeles)
  • Overtime may be necessary depending on project demands

Additional Key Details

  • This position is a ‘rover’ role, requiring travel from site to site
  • The Project Manager will supervise multiple construction projects and may be required to temporarily fill in at active job sites as needed
  • This role is based out of the Ontario branch, but active work locations range from Riverside to Los Angeles, and from Long Beach to Pasadena
  • A company vehicle is not provided for this position
  • A monthly per diem is provided twice a month to help offset travel and hotel expenses as required
